When St Colman’s College first year students begin their second-level studies at the Claremorris College this coming week they will be making history by being the first secondary school in Ireland to replace school books with iPads. And for seven lucky first years they will be receiving a free iPad from Irish philanthropist, Darragh MacAnthony.

Mr MacAnthony, who is Chairman of Peterborough United Football Club in England, selected the seven students after all new students at St Colman’s were invited to sumbit a short story which were judged by the Dublin-born entrepreneur.
